Thai PM receives donations from Chinese associations and organizations to help Southern flood-affected victims

Bangkok, December 3 (AseanAll)  — On December 3, 2025,  at the Thai Government House, Thai Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul received donation of relief supplies for flood-affected victims in the South from People’s Republic of China, through the Chinese Ambassador to Thailand,  Zhang Jianwei, Thian Fah Foundation Hospital president Smai Kuakpetoon, Thai-Chinese associations and representatives of Chinese organizations and firms in Thailand. 

Participating in the event were Secretary-General to the Prime Minister Traisuree Taisaranakul, Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister's Office Yupha Taweewattanakitborvon, and Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister for Administration Chanida Kasemsook.  

The Chinese Ambassador expressed concern over flood disaster in the South, and stated that this assistance reflects strong partnership between Thailand and China as the two countries are as close as one family and have always stood by each other. China had previously provided assistance, worth over 30 million Baht. Today, the Chinese Ambassador, together with representatives of the Thai-Chinese associations, organizations and companies in Thailand, now jointly presented an additional donation of 32 million Baht. Thian Fah Foundation Hospital also contributed an additional donation of 5 million Baht. These donated funds will go to the Disaster Relief Fund under the Office of the Prime Minister.

The Chinese Ambassador mentioned Their Majesties the King and Queen's recent visit to the People's Republic of China, which has established a new chapter of friendship between the two countries. Thailand and China are now gaining a new opportunity to develop bilateral relations in all dimensions, and to create prosperity for the peoples of both countries.

The Prime Minister thanked the Chinese Ambassador, representatives of Chinese associations and various organizations, on behalf of the Thai Government and people, for their generosity and support extended to the flood-affected victims. This assistance reflects strong and enduring relations between Thailand and China, as said in the proverb “Chinese-Thai are no strangers, but brothers”. The Thai Government would expedite the relief and recovery efforts to return the affected areas to normalcy the soonest. Economic, trade, and business activities, which are vital mechanisms to the local economy, will particularly be encouraged.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed that all donations will be promptly, transparently, and fairly utilized to restore the economy and quality of life of the affected people for their best benefits.
