Indonesian Products Shine at Viet Nam’s Largest Furniture Exhibition, VIFA Expo

(AseanAll)  — Indonesian furniture companies are once again participating in the 16th Viet Nam International Furniture & Home Accessories Fair (VIFA Expo) 2025, held in Ho Chi Minh City from March 5 to 8,2025.

The regular involvement of Indonesian companies in the VIFA Expo underscores the significant opportunities for collaboration in the furniture sector with Viet Nam. This year, five Indonesian companies are participating: PT Sinar Continental (brand: Regency), PT Gatra Mapan (brand: Melody), PT Furniplus Asia (brand: Memory), PT Ocean Centra Furnindo, and PT Ateja Tritunggal.

Indonesian furniture products are distinguished by their high quality and design, attributes that are highly valued by both Vietnamese and international buyers. As a result, Indonesian furniture and related materials have a strong competitive edge in Viet Nam’s targeted market. The presence of international buyers from various countries further provides Indonesian companies an excellent opportunity to showcase the quality of their products at this year’s VIFA Expo.

The Indonesian products exhibited at VIFA Expo 2025 include indoor furniture made from panel wood (engineered wood), sofas, mattresses, and fabric materials used for indoor and outdoor furniture, sunscreen, and mattress fillings. Indonesian participants noted that Viet Nam is a key target market due to its current role as a global hub for furniture exports and imports. This appeal is evidenced by the participation of 650 exhibitors (of which 52% are foreign companies) from 20 countries, occupying 2,500 booths.

The largest furniture exhibition in Viet Nam was inaugurated by Mr. Vu Ba Phu, Director of the Viet Nam Trade and Promotion Agency of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The Indonesian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, Agustaviano Sofjan, attended the opening ceremony alongside representatives from other foreign consulates in Ho Chi Minh City, the Deputy Committee of the People of Ho Chi Minh City, and local government agencies.

In 2024, Viet Nam’s export revenue in the wood and wood products sector reached USD 16.28 billion, a 20.9% increase compared to the previous year. The rapid growth in exports has been supported by advancements in production technology, a robust supply chain, and the effective utilization of Viet Nam’s free trade agreements with various countries.

The Indonesian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City (KJRI HCMC) continues to encourage Indonesian companies to exhibit their premier products at various exhibitions organized by Viet Nam as well as to participate in economic promotional activities conducted by KJRI HCMC.

Trade between the two countries has been steadily increasing. In 2024, bilateral trade between Indonesia and Viet Nam exceeded USD 16 billion, doubling the figure from five years ago, when it reached over USD 8 billion in 2020.
