(AseanAll) — Opening ceremony of the Indonesian Language Course Batch 1/2025 was held on on February 8, 2025 at the Yangon University of Foreign Languages (YUFL) in Yangon,Myanmar.
The course is conducted in collaboration between the Indonesian Embassy in Yangon, Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education of Indonesia and YUFL. Rector of YUFL Prof. Dr. Kyi Shwin and Mr. M. Arif Hidayatullah, Chargé d'affaires of the Indonesian Embassy in Yangon gave the opening remarks.
Prof. Dr. Kyi Shwin stated that it had been ten years since YUFL was preparing to open the Indonesian Language Program. Mr. M. Arif Hidayatullah mentioned that this is the very first Indonesian Language Course opened in YUFL. One of the aims of the Indonesian Language Course is to enhance the bilateral relationship between two nations, Indonesia and Myanmar. He pointed out that the Indonesian language has been recognized as one of the official languages of the UNESCO in November 2023. He also encouraged the participants to actively participate in class and ask questions.
The participants of the course included students from various major of YUFL and also lecturers and associate professors. There are three classes of Indonesian Language Course for this batch (February-March 2025), 2 weekend classes and 1 weekday class with a total of 89 participants.
