(AseanAll) — Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on January 29, 2025 wished all Indonesian Chinese descents a happy Chinese New Year.
In his statement, the President invited all people to take this occasion as a moment to strengthen kinship and maintain harmony in diversity.
“On behalf of the Indonesian Government and on my own behalf, I wish a Happy Chinese New Year 2576 [Kongzili] to those who celebrate it,” the President stated.
The President went on to say that Chinese New Year is more than a celebration and tradition but also a symbol of hope and togetherness in a plural society. He expressed hope that this year brings joy, prosperity, and good fortune for all Chinese descents in Indonesia.
“May this year, the year of the Wood Snake brings good fortune, peace, and joy for us all,” he added.
