Indonesian President Prabowo Meets with Malaysian PM at Merdeka Palace

Jakarta, March 27(AseanAll)  — Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on March 27, 2026 received a visit from Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who is also his old friend, at Merdeka Palace.

The meeting proceeded in a warm and friendly atmosphere, reflecting the close personal relationship and strategic partnership between the two leaders.

Indonesian Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said in his written statement that the two leaders used the meeting to exchange views on global dynamics, especially geopolitical developments in West Asia, and several strategic issues.

“The atmosphere of the meeting was warm. During the talk, they exchanged Eid greetings and discussed the geopolitical dynamics in West Asia and multiple strategic issues of shared concern,” he said, adding that the meeting lasted for approximately three hours, from 16.00 to 19.00 Western Indonesian time.

“The meeting lasted for about three hours, from 16.00 to 19.00. Afterward, President Prabowo accompanied PM Anwar Ibrahim in the same car to Halim Airport,” he said.

This visit not only strengthens the close tie between Indonesia and Malaysia but also demonstrates the two leaders’ commitment to maintaining communication and coordination amidst developing global dynamics.
