Brunei Minister of Defence II receives joint calls from both outgoing and incoming Defence Attachés of Indonesia to Brunei

(AseanAll)  — Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd. Yussof, Brunei Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II, received Colonel Doddy Suhadiman, the outgoing Defence Attaché of the Republic of Indonesia to Brunei Darussalam, along with Colonel Gamma Arthadilla Sakti, the incoming Defence Attaché of the Republic of Indonesia to Brunei Darussalam for a joint call on November 18, 2024.

During the call, Colonel Doddy Suhadiman expressed gratitude for the close and warm bilateral defence relations between the two nations. The Minister voiced confidence that the longstanding friendly relations and diverse cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Indonesia, especially in defence and military matters, will be further strengthened in the years ahead. 

The Minister also extended his deepest appreciation to Colonel Doddy Suhadiman for his contributions and collaboration throughout his tenure as the Defence Attaché of the Republic of Indonesia since 17 December 2021.

The Minister congratulated Colonel Gamma Arthadilla Sakti on his new appointment as Defence Attaché of the Republic of Indonesia to Brunei Darussalam. 

Colonel Gamma Arthadilla Sakti expressed his hopes of strengthening the existing bilateral defence and military cooperation between the two countries.

The defence cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Indonesia has been long established and has grown steadily since the establishment of diplomatic relations on 1 January 1984. Both countries also signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Defence Cooperation on 10 April 2003.
