Phnom Penh, June 12 (AseanAll) — Southeast Asia's tallest Buddha statue is being constructed on Cambodia's Bokor Mountain, a well-known natural tourist attraction whose peak is 1,017 metres high, in Kampot province, Cambodia.

According to Cambodia state news agency AKP, the President of Sokha Hotel, Neak Oknha Sok Kung, initiated the construction of the 108-metre-tall Buddha statue, which was estimated to cost about US$60 million to worship the enlightening teachings of Lord Buddha.

Neak Oknha Sok Kung is launching a festival to mobilise local resources, especially from followers of Buddha, from June 28 to 30, 2024 at the Sokha Hotel in Siem Reap province, Cambodia.

The occasion will open an opportunity for them to contribute to the construction of the historic statue.
The event will also feature food and beverage stalls and performances and offer accommodation with special rates at the five-star Sokha Hotel to participants.
