Phnom Penh, April 5 (AseanAll) — Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, departed on the morning of April 05, 2024 for a visit in Japan.

The Cambodian monarch was seen off at Phnom Penh International Airport by Hun Sen, newly elected President of the Senate; Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly; Hun Manet, Prime Minister; and many other high-ranking officials as well as royal family members.

Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia UENO Atsushi was also present on the occasion.
During the King’s absence, Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen will act as the Acting Head of State.
Viet Nam and Japan have concurred to procure crude oil for the Nghi Son Refinery – one of the two oil refinery plants in Viet Nam, according to Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae.
