(AseanAll) —Yang Mulia Poh Kui Choon, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence Brunei Darussalam attended the 12th IISS Shangri-la Dialogue Sherpa Meeting, which took place from 21 to 23 January 2024 at the Shangri-La Hotel, Republic of Singapore.

The Sherpa Meeting is a platform to discuss key regional security issues amongst defence officials, high-ranking military officers, and non-governmental experts. This year, the meeting observed four sessions entitled; Crisis Management in the Asia-Pacific, Developing New Regional Defence Capabilities and Industrial Partnerships, Managing the Military Dimensions of Cyber, Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technologies, and Ensuring Regional Security in an Era of Rising Strategic Competition.

At the sideline of the meeting, the Deputy Permanent Secretary held bilateral calls with senior officials from Singapore, United Kingdom, United States, France, Canada and Germany.

The International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) organised the Shangri-La Dialogue Sherpa Meeting in support and preparation for the upcoming IISS Shangri-la Dialogue, which will take place on 31 May to 2 June 2024.
