Phnom Penh, October 25(AseanAll) — On October 25, the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) and other 27 political parties signed a “Cooperation and Alliance Agreement” at the CPP’s headquarters in Phnom Penh capital city.
The agreement were signed by Hun Sen, President of the ruling Cambodian People’s Party, and representatives of 27 political parties.

Score of 27 political parties have announced their desire to form the alliance with the ruling party -CPP for upholding solidarity, national unity as well as elimination of extremist political culture and opportunities to participate in the national development.
“We really need the cooperation between political parties in Cambodia to achieve the goal of maintaining peace to ensure long-term development,” Samdech Techo Hun Sen said on October 12. Eighteen political parties contested in the July General Election for the 125 seats at the National Assembly.

The ruling CPP led by Hun Sen won 120 parliamentary seats while the FUNCINPEC Party of Prince Norodom Chakravuth gained the remaining five seats.
