Bangkok,September 4 (AseanAll)  — On September 4, 2026,Thai Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul chaired a handover ceremony of humanitarian assistance to Nepal. Witnessing the ceremony were Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Public Health Pattana Promphat, and Deputy Minister of Interior Jeseth Thaiseth.

The Prime Minister presented a symbol of assistance to the Ambassador of Nepal to Thailand, and expressed his deepest condolences to the Government and people of Nepal for the loss and plights caused by the recent flash flood. He stressed that Thailand and the Thai people stand in solidarity with Nepal during this difficult time. The Thai Government has provided humanitarian assistance, worth 7 million Baht (approximately USD210,000), which includes transportation cost and essential supplies to support relief and recovery efforts for the affected victims.

Relief items from the Thai Government agencies include 500 Level C protective suits, and 2,700 human remains pouches (HRP), as well as rescue masks, medical masks, and air filtration sets. Additional contributions were made by the Thai private sector, i.e., Thai Beverage Public Company Limited, which donated blankets for distribution to flood victims in Nepal.

According to the Government Spokesperson, this assistance not only addresses immediate needs but also reflects friendship and solidarity between the people of Thailand and Nepal, and underscores Thailand’s role as a responsible member of the international community, who is always ready to provide humanitarian support when partner countries face crises. It is hoped that Thailand’s assistance will contribute to relief, recovery, and rehabilitation for those affected in Nepal.
