(AseanAll) — On the morning of January 29, 2026, Shi Zhongjun, Secretary General of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), met with Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism of Cambodia in Cebu, the Philippines.

The two sides held substantive discussions on deepening Cambodia-China tourism cooperation, revitalizing regional tourism market dynamism, and strengthening tourism safety.
During the meeting, Shi Zhongjun briefed the Minister on the ACC’s initiatives which focused on tourism destination quality and promotion, facilitating two-way people-to-people exchanges between ASEAN and China, and enhancing capacity building for ASEAN tourism professionals. He emphasized the ACC’s willingness to further strengthen cooperation with Cambodia’s Ministry of Tourism, particularly in the areas of tourism safety, destination marketing and capacity building of Cambodian tourism professionals, in support of Cambodia’s visa-free policy promotion and the advancement of Cambodia-China tourism cooperation.
During the talks, Huot Hak expressed appreciation for the ACC’s long-standing efforts in promoting ASEAN-China tourism cooperation, including cooperation between China and Cambodia. He noted that Cambodia will continue to improve tourism service standards for Chinese visitors and work to create a safe and comfortable travel environment. He expressed his hope to further strengthen cooperation with the ACC to jointly promote Cambodia’s tourism brand in the Chinese market.
