Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Conveys Humanitarian Assistance from Chinese Government to Thai Prime Minister

On January 15, 2026,Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Zhang Jianwei met with Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul to convey humanitarian assistance worth 20 million yuan from the Chinese government to the Thai people affected by the conflict on the Thai-Cambodian border.

Ambassador Zhang stated that the foreign ministers of China and Thailand had reached a consensus on China’s provision of humanitarian assistance to Thailand. The assistance includes 10 million yuan in cash and supplies worth 10 million yuan, with the hope of helping the affected Thai people overcome difficulties as soon as possible and rebuild their homes. China is pleased with the current ceasefire situation between Thailand and Cambodia and looks forward to both sides continuing to implement the outcomes of the Fuxian Lake Meeting, enhancing engagement, building mutual trust, and achieving an early turnaround in relations. China is willing to continue playing a constructive role in the Asian way.

Anutin expressed gratitude for China’s humanitarian assistance, emphasizing that this move reflects the fine tradition of mutual assistance between China and Thailand and the profound friendship encapsulated in the phrase "China and Thailand are one family." Thailand values regional peace and is willing to work with Cambodia to maintain stability along the border.
