Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces receives a courtesy call from Non-Resident France Defence Attache to Brunei

(AseanAll)  — Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) received a courtesy call from Lieutenant Colonel Philippe Quemaris, Non-Resident France Defence Attache to Brunei Darussalam on September 25, 2025. 

Accompanying Lieutenant Colonel Philippe Quemaris was Ms. Eve Lubin, the Ambassador of France to Brunei Darussalam. Also present were the Chief of Staff RBAF and Acting Director of Intelligence, Ministry of Defence. 

During the call, both sides affirmed their strong bilateral relations and acknowledging the significance of The Agreement in Defence Matters and Defence Equipment established on February 25, 1999.The RBAF Commander expressed his appreciation for the ongoing defence cooperation with the French Armed Forces, which has deepened through various interactions such as port calls, exchange visits, exhibitions, courses and training, and the annual Joint Defence Working Committee (JDWC) meetings.

Lieutenant Colonel Philippe Quemaris has been accredited as the non-resident French Defence Attaché to Brunei Darussalam from June 2025. He visited Brunei Darussalam from 23 September 2025 to 25 September 2025.
