Vietnamese Party chief To Lam to pay State visit to North Korea

Hanoi, October 6 (AseanAll)  — Vietnamese Party chief To Lam will to pay a State visit to North Korea.

General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) To Lam is set to pay a State visit to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea( DPRK,North Korea ) from October 9-11,2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam confirmed on October 6,according to Vietnamese government portal(VGP).

During the three-day tour, To Lam will attend the 80th founding anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea (October 10, 1954-October 10, 2025).

To Lam’s upcoming visit will be made the invitation of Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of DPRK.

DPRK’s top leader Kim Jong Un visited Viet Nam in 2019, when he attended the DPRK-U.S. Summit in Ha Noi.

Viet Nam and the DPRK established diplomatic relations on January 31, 1950, making the latter the third country after China and the Soviet Union to set up diplomatic relations with Viet Nam.

Over the traditional friendship and cooperation between Viet Nam and the DPRK have been consistently valued and nurtured by the Parties, States and peoples of both nations, contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the wider world.
