(AseanAll)  — In a powerful show of regional solidarity, the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) has delivered a USD 100,000 humanitarian donation to the Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) to bolster life-saving relief efforts in disaster-hit communities on August 7, 2025. 

The contribution, channeled through the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Yangon, underscores Indonesia’s steadfast commitment to supporting neighbors in times of crisis.

The funds will immediately reinforce MRCS’s emergency operations, particularly following the recent devastating earthquake in Myanmar. Mobilizing swiftly in the aftermath, MRCS deployed teams of dedicated volunteers to provide rescue services, first aid, and recovery assistance — embodying an unwavering dedication to humanitarian service.

“This partnership reflects the shared values and deep bonds that unite our nations and national societies,” said the representative of the Indonesian Embassy. “Humanity knows no borders, and in times like these, solidarity becomes our strongest asset.”

The donation highlights the enduring collaboration between PMI and MRCS under the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), strengthening the network’s capacity to respond effectively to crises across ASEAN.

The Indonesian Embassy in Yangon played a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless handover of the aid, aligning the contribution with Myanmar’s most urgent needs. The ceremonial handover, held at MRCS Headquarters, was attended by senior MRCS officials and representatives of Indonesia’s diplomatic mission.
