Kuala Lumpur, August 15 (AseanAll) — On August 14 and 15, 2025, Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Ouyang Yujing attended and delivered remarks at the Grand Opening of Nanyang Volunteer Drivers and Mechanics (Nan Qiao Ji Gong) Memorial Park & Memorial Hall, Memorial Ceremony for Nanyang Volunteers, and Memorial Ceremony at the Malaya World War II Memorial Peace Park, in Kuala Lumpur,Malaysia.
Over a thousand guests attended, including Malaysia’s Minister of Transport Anthony Loke Siew Fook and Member of Parliament Tan Kok Wai, descendants of Nanyang Volunteers, representatives of Kwong Tong Cemetery Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia’s community associations, friends of various sectors, and representatives of China’s relevant departments.
In his speech, Ouyang Yujing recalled the World Anti-Fascist War’s history, during which Chinese people and the world’s peace-loving people fought together to safeguard peace and justice for mankind. He highlighted that Chinese President Xi Jinping’s successful visit to Malaysia has opened a new chapter in building a high-level strategic China-Malaysia community with a shared future. “China stands ready to work with Malaysia to be pursuers of friendly cooperation, proponents of mutual learning among civilizations, and builders of a community with a shared future for mankind as we advance our respective modernization while driving regional, global prosperity and stability together.”
