Paris, July 15 (AseanAll) — In order to fulfill the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has made a visit to Paris, France from July 13-15, 2025, as the guest of honor at the Military Parade commemorating France's National Day (défilé) which takes place along the Champs-Élysées.
At the parade, Indonesia participated by sending a contingent consisting of 509 TNI/Polri personnel. The Indonesian contingent participated alongside the French Armed Forces and Police. Indonesia's presence in this parade has received appreciation from the French Government and society. The participation of the Indonesian contingent reflects the significance of the Strategic Partnership between Indonesia and France, particularly in the field of defense cooperation.
After the Parade, in the evening of July 14, during a private dinner at the Élysée Presidential Palace, the President of Indonesia also had discussions with the President of France regarding matters of mutual interest to both countries in terms of bilateral, regional, and multilateral cooperation.
In the midst of this visit, the Indonesia-France Business Breakfast Dialogue was also held on July 15, 2025, which serves as a dialogue forum between the governments and the business communities of Indonesia and France. This forum is expected to strengthen business, trade, and investment relations, as well as support the priority national development programs of both countries.
In addition, for the first time, the Indonesia-France Strategic Cultural Dialogue was held on July 15, 2025, attended by the Indonesian Minister of Culture, the Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Indonesian Creative Economy Agency, and the French Minister of Culture.
This visit has reaffirmed the joint commitment of both countries to continue deepening the Strategic Partnership, as well as implementing the "Joint Declaration Towards 2050: 100 Years of Diplomatic Relations" announced on May 28, 2025, in Jakarta. This year, Indonesia and France commemorate 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
