(AseanAll) — The President of the Republic of Timor-Leste,J. Ramos-Horta, received the Ambassador of Guinea-Bissau to Portugal, Artur Silva, this Friday at the Presidential Palace on June 27, 2025. The Ambassador is currently visiting Dili on the occasion of the Fourth Conference of the Asian Communities of Portuguese Language.

The meeting aimed to strengthen fraternal ties and explore new opportunities for cooperation between Timor-Leste and Guinea-Bissau, two brotherly nations within the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP).
During the audience, topics related to bilateral cooperation were discussed, and a common interest in deepening diplomatic and institutional relations was expressed. The meeting highlighted the shared history and cultural values that unite the two Lusophone nations.
Artur Silva thanked the Head of State for his hospitality and the warm welcome he received during his stay.
In turn, Ramos-Horta reiterated Timor-Leste’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with Guinea-Bissau, highlighting the importance of continuous dialogue and close collaboration for mutual development and the achievement of common goals.
