Indonesian President, Singaporean Prime Minister Attend Milestone Ceremony for Renewable Energy Cooperation

Singapore, June 16 (AseanAll)  — Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong attended the Renewable Energy Interconnectors Milestone Ceremony on 16 June 2025 at the Parliament House, Singapore.

The event took place after both leaders delivered their press statement on the occasion of the annual Leaders’ Retreat and Prabowo’s state visit to Singapore.

The ceremony marked a notable action in sustainable energy cooperation between Indonesia and Singapore. As a symbol of strategic collaboration in the green energy sector, the two leaders jointly pressed a digital button.

During the joint press conference, Lawrence Wong expressed optimism about the future of bilateral energy cooperation and emphasized that collaboration in the green economy is deepening the already robust and multifaceted economic ties between the two nations.

“Our work in the green economy strengthens our already strong and diverse economic relations. Our trade and investment ties remain strong,” he added.

This ceremony represented a tangible commitment by the two neighboring countries to face climate change challenges while fostering new investment opportunities, including the development of sustainable industrial zones, cross-border electricity trade, and low-carbon energy infrastructure. It was also regarded as a symbol of strategic partnership with regional impact and global significance, contributing to a broader agenda of energy transition and sustainable development.
