Hanoi, May 25 (AseanAll) — Politburo member of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and Vice President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Pany Yathotou paid a courtesy call to Vietnamese President Lương Cuong on May 25,2025, following her participation in the national memorial service for former Vietnamese President Tran Duc Luong the previous day,accoridng to Lao News Agency KPL.

The high-level Lao delegation represented the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP), the National Assembly, the Government, and the Lao Front for National Development.

They arrived in Vietnam on May 24 to honor the late Vietnamese President, who passed away on May 20 at age 88.

During the meeting, Lao Vice President Pany Yathortou conveyed deep condolences from the Lao Party, Government, and people—including General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith—to the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese Government, and the people over the loss of former President Tran Duc Luong.

Vietnamese President Luong Cuong expressed sincere appreciation for the Lao delegation’s presence, emphasizing the enduring solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam.
