Jakarta, May 20 (AseanAll) — Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono received a courtesy call from the Swedish Ambassador to Indonesia, Timor Leste, and ASEAN, Daniel Blockert, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jakarta on May 20, 2025.

The meeting discussed, among other things, joint efforts to enhance bilateral relations, particularly in the sectors of trade and investment, as well as energy transition.
The year 2025 marks 75 years of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Sweden, reflecting a close and sustainable partnership in various fields.
In the meeting, Sugiono encouraged the continuous exploration of potential cooperation opportunities, especially in the fields of transmission grid, health, and vocational education.
Furthermore, Sugiono also hopes that people-to-people contact activities between the two countries at various levels can continue to be developed.
Sweden is Indonesia's largest trade, investment, and tourism partner from the Nordic region. In 2024, the trade value between Indonesia and Sweden reached more than USD 1.3 billion, an increase of 18.9% compared to the previous year, which was USD 1.1 billion. The value of Swedish investment in Indonesia, which reached USD 184 million in 2024, also still has the potential to be increased.
In addition to discussing bilateral issues, Sugiono and Blockert also exchanged views on the current global situation of mutual concern.
