Phnom Penh, January 14 (AseanAll) — The commander-in-chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF),General Vong Pisen has suggested the U.S. expand military cooperation for mutual benefits.
General Vong Pisen highlighted the suggestions when receiving newly appointed Chief of the U.S. Military Attaché Office in Cambodia Lieutenant Colonel Kyle Saltzman, on January 13,2025 in Phnom Penh.
The proposed cooperation included the exchange of information and learning visits at different levels and the prevention of terrorism and transnational crimes, said the RCAF chief.
Cambodia would continue to support the U.S. to search for the remains of its servicemen and consider the possibility of joint military drills.
Lieutenant Colonel Kyle Saltzman highly valued the 75-year relationship between Cambodia and the U.S., resulting in many achievements, and was positive about more cooperation opportunities during his tenure in Cambodia.
The chief of the U.S. Military Attaché Office thanked the Royal Government of Cambodia for its continued efforts to continue the search for missing American remains in Cambodia.
He informed General Vong Pisen that the commander of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command had scheduled his visit to Cambodia in February, wherein he would discuss with the country the resumption of the Angkor Sentinel, which is a joint Cambodia-U.S. military exercise.
