Malaysia donates US$5 million to Palestinians

Putrajaya, December 20 (AseanAll)  — On 18 December 2024, Malaysian Minister of Foreign Affairs Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan presented a cheque in the amount of USD5 million to the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Malaysia Dr. Ismael Maddallah Suliman Maaytah. This contribution supports the initiatives led by Jordan King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, aimed at alleviating the plight and worsening humanitarian crisis affecting the Palestinians in Gaza.

Through the Palestinian Trust Fund (Akaun Amanah Khas Rakyat Palestin - AAKRP), Malaysia can continue her commitment in providing critical aid to the Palestinian people, in close partnership with Jordan, United Nations agencies, and other like-minded nations. Malaysia is dedicated to deliver essential supplies such as food, medical resources, and other critical support to meet the urgent humanitarian needs of Palestinians in Gaza.

Malaysia remains steadfast in its support for the Palestinian people until they achieve their right to self-determination in a sovereign and independent Palestinian state, based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. Malaysia stands firmly in solidarity with the Palestinian people, advocating for their freedom, dignity, and justice at the global stage.
