Chinese Ambassador to Brunei Attends Calligraphy Competition Award Ceremony by Chinese Communities

(AseanAll)  — On 22 June,2025,  Chinese Ambassador to Brunei Xiao Jianguo was invited to attendthe award ceremony for Bruneian winners of theBrunei-Tenom-LimbangChinese Calligraphy Competition, where he presented awards to the winners together with Mr. Richard Jong Ching Sheng, President of the Chinese Calligraphy and Chinese Painting Cultural Society of Brunei, the co-organizer of the event.

Xiao Jianguo commended in his speech the Chinese communities from three regions for jointly hosting the calligraphy competition, noting that the event has enabled people in Brunei and Malaysia to learn about traditional Chinese culture, strengthened mutual understanding among different ethnic groups, and served as a vivid example of implementing the Global Civilization Initiative and advancing a community with a shared future with neighboring countries.  

The competition attracted extensive participation from Chinese communities in Brunei, as well as from Tenom and Limbangof Malaysia, collecting nearly 300 calligraphy submissions.
