Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen Leaves for China for Three-day Official Visit

Phnom Penh,December 2 (AseanAll)  — Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) and President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia, departed here on the morning of December 2 for the People’s Republic of China to pay a three-day official and goodwill visit, at the invitation of the Chinese Communist Party, according to a press release of the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Hun Sen was seen off at Phnom Penh International Airport by CPP senior officials, senators, lawmakers, government officials and many other dignitaries.

During the visit from December 2 to 4, Hun Sen will hold a bilateral meeting with Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and President of the People’s Republic of China, as well as separate meetings with Wang Huning, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and  Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress.

“As Cambodia-China People-to-People Exchange Year comes to a close, the first visit to China of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, as President of the Senate, will provide a new momentum in strengthening the ironclad friendship, promoting cooperation of the comprehensive strategic partnership with an aim to deepen the diamond cooperation, and advancing the building of a high-quality, high-level and high-standard Cambodia-China community with a shared future in the new era,” the Ministry underlined.

Hun Sen is accompanied by Tea Banh, Member of the Supreme Privy Council to His Majesty the King and Vice President of the CPP and Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Chairman of the Commission for External Relations, as well as dignitaries of the Senate, Ministers and senior government officials, pointed out the press release.
