(AseanAll)  — Newly-appointed Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to ASEAN, Sudqi Atallah Abd Alkader Al Omoush, presented his Letter of Credence (LOC) to Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat on August 1, 2024.

Secretary-General Dr. Kao congratulated Ambassador Al Omoush on his assumption of office and looked forward to working closely with him in promoting closer relations between ASEAN and Jordan. Going forward, Secretary-General Dr. Kao encouraged Jordan to continue working with ASEAN in exploring possible cooperation in areas of mutual benefits and interests, including trade, investment, connectivity and tourism.

Ambassador Al Omoush commended and acknowledged the important role of ASEAN in promoting peace, prosperity and development in the region and beyond. He further expressed his readiness to work closely with ASEAN to explore potential areas of cooperation between both sides and to strengthen Jordan’s relations and cooperation with ASEAN and the ASEAN Member States.

Jordan accredited its first Ambassador to ASEAN in 2015. The ASEAN Committee in Amman was formally established in April 2008 with a view to promoting ASEAN’s profile and cooperation with Jordan in the host country.
