Bandar Seri Begawan, February 15 (AseanAll)  — On 15 February 2024 , with the consent of Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam, a total of 74 officers of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) were promoted.

The officers which include 2 officers promoted from Acting Major to Substantive Major, 27 officers promoted from Substantive Captain/Lieutenant (RBN) to Substantive Major/Lieutenant Commander (RBN), 4 officers promoted from Substantive Captain/ Lieutenant (RBN) to Acting Major/ Lieutenant Commander (RBN), 1 officer promoted from Acting Captain to Substantive Captain, 30 officers promoted from Lieutenant/Lieutenant Junior Grade (RBN) to Substantive Captain/Lieutenant (RBN), and 10 officers promoted from Lieutenant/Lieutenant Junior Grade (RBN) to Acting Captain/Lieutenant (RBN). 

The rank insignias was presented by Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of RBAF, at the Officers’ Mess, Berakas Garrison.

Also present were Permanent Secretary Ministry of Defence, Services Commanders, Acting Service Commander, Acting Joint Force Commander (JFC), Deputy Permanent Secretary Ministry of Defence, Directors and senior officers of the Ministry of Defence as well as family members of the promoted officers.

The ceremony concluded with a Doa Selamat recited by Commander Haji Ainolnizam bin Haji Ibrahim, RBN, Director of RBAF Religious Directorate (JAMA’AT) to bless the ceremony.
