Bangkok, August 6 (AseanAll) — On August 6, 2026, at the lawn in front of the Thai Khu Fah Building, Min Aung Hlaing, President of Republic of the Union of Myanmar, paid an official visit to Thailand as guest of the Thai Government.
Upon his arrival, Thai Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul extended a warm welcome and led the Myanmar President to the official welcoming ceremony and a review of the honor guards. Following the ceremony, the Prime Minister and President of Myanmar took a commemorative photo at the central staircase of the Thai Khu Fah Building, signed the Government’s guest book, and exchanged souvenirs between the two sides at the Ivory Room.
A constituency meeting was, then, held between the Prime Minister and the Myanmar President at the 2nd floor of the Thai Khu Fah Building to exchange views on enhancing cooperation between Thailand and Myanmar. The agendas discussed included cross-border issues, energy cooperation, trade facilitation, and promotion of peace and stability along the border. The two leaders subsequently attended the plenary meeting at the Green Room, Thai Khu Fah Building.
Thai delegation participating in the plenary meeting were: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of FinanceEkniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Suphajee Suthumpun, Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Adul Boonthumjaroen, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Suchart Chomklin, Minister of Energy (Minister in attendance) Akanat Promphan, Minister of Labor Julapun Amornvivat, Minister of Justice Police Lieutenant General Rutthaphon Naowarat, Deputy Minister of Transport Phattrapong Phattraprasit, Deputy Minister of Interior Jeseth Thaiseth, Chief of the Defense Forces Gen. Ukrit Boontanon, and Secretary-General to the Prime Minister Traisuree Taisaranakul.
