Jakarta, March 19 (AseanAll) — On 16 March 2026, Shi Zhongjun, Secretary General of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), met with Ida Bagus Made Bimantara, Director of ASEAN External Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, in Jakarta.

Shi Zhongjun briefed on the ACC’s mandate, work priorities and key project plans for 2026. He noted that this year marks the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the ACC. The ACC will earnestly implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of both sides, further synergise development strategies, by advancing practical cooperation and people-to-people exchanges. The ACC is committed to advancing the Indonesia-China community with a shared future, and promoting the ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to deeper levels.

Ida Bagus Made Bimantara appreciated the ACC for its long-standing and valuable contributions to advancing ASEAN-China and Indonesia-China relations.
He said that the current world is undergoing turbulence with frequent wars and conflicts, which have affected regional development and stability. Against this backdrop, both sides should further strengthen strategic synergy and effectively respond to challenges.
Ida Bagus Made Bimantara expressed the hope that the ACC will continue to leverage its unique strengths to boost practical cooperation between Indonesia as well as ASEAN with China in such fields as trade, investment, energy, agriculture, youth, women, vocational education and rural poverty reduction, so as to make greater contributions to safeguarding regional peace, development and win-win outcomes.
