During his intervention,Ramos-Horta powerfully drew upon Timor-Leste’s own history of peacebuilding, recalling the nation’s successful journey from conflict to independence and its historic reconciliation with Indonesia. Addressing current global crises, particularly the devastating conflicts in the Middle East, the President warned of their severe humanitarian and geopolitical impacts.
