Philippine Foreign Secretary Receives Newly Elected PCCI Board

Manila, March 2  (AseanAll)  — Philippine Secretary of Foreign Affairs Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro received senior officers of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), led by PCCI President Ferdinand A. Ferrer, during a courtesy visit at the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines on 02 March 2026,according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) of the Philippines.

Lazaro congratulated the newly elected Board and underscored the Department’s recognition of PCCI’s role in articulating the voice of the private sector and advancing Philippine business priorities in both domestic and international engagements.

During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to the shared goal of expanding trade and investment, generating quality employment, and strengthening the Philippines’ position as a reliable and competitive economic partner.

Lazaro also briefed the PCCI delegation on the Department’s activities for the 2026 ASEAN Chairship and discussed possible areas of cooperation between DFA and PCCI. The Secretary acknowledged PCCI’s active engagement in ASEAN mechanisms, including through the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC), and encouraged continued private sector participation aligned with the Philippine agenda.
