Philippines, China Continue Exchange of Views on Prevailing Bilateral Concerns, Explore Ways to Advance Mutually-Beneficial Cooperation

(AseanAll)  —  PH DFA Assistant Secretary for Asian and Pacific Affairs Marshall Louis Alferez held talks with Chinese foreign ministry counterparts Asian Affairs Director-General Liu Jinsong and Boundary and Ocean Affairs Director-General Hou Yanqi in Beijing on 27-28 February 2026,according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) of the Philippines.

Both sides had an open and candid exchange of views on prevailing bilateral concerns, and explored ways to advance mutually-beneficial cooperation. 

He also paid a courtesy call on Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong and discussed the state of the bilateral relationship. 

The Beijing meetings followed initial talks held in Cebu on 29 January 2026.
