Washington D.C., February 20 (AseanAll) — Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on February 19,2026 reaffirmed Indonesia’s strong commitment to realize sustainable peace in the Middle East, particularly in Palestine.
“The vision of a genuine peace will be achieved. There will be challenges. Nevertheless, we will be able to overcome them. We will realize our dream of peace in Palestine, a lasting peace and a peaceful solution to the Palestinian issue, including in Gaza,” Prabowo said at his remarks at the Inaugural Meeting of the Board of Peace at the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C., USA.

Prabowo also expressed appreciation for the achievement of a ceasefire agreement, describing it as a concrete step toward regional stabilization. According to the President, the momentum must be maintained through concrete measures capable of ensuring that security and post-conflict recovery proceed effectively.
“The achievement of a ceasefire is a tangible step that deserves appreciation, and for that we extend our recognition for this accomplishment,” President Prabowo added.
The Head of State also conveyed Indonesia’s readiness to contribute to the establishment of the International Stabilization Force (ISF) as part of post-conflict stabilization efforts through the deployment of a significant number of troops.
“Therefore, we reaffirm our commitment to contribute through the deployment of a substantial number of troops, up to 8,000 personnel or more if required. We stand ready to deploy forces to actively participate in the International Stabilization Force to ensure that peace can be realized and implemented effectively,” Prabowo remarked.
Through these measures, Indonesia reaffirmed its position as a nation at the forefront of the struggle for peace, combining humanitarian principles, global responsibility, and leadership willing to act decisively.
The Inaugural Meeting of the Board of Peace was held at the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace, formerly the United States Institute of Peace established by the U.S. Congress, which completed its renaming in December 2025. The Board of Peace (BoP), an international organization initiated by the United States and endorsed by United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803, is mandated to spearhead the advancement of the Gaza peace plan and oversee post-conflict reconstruction in Gaza. Indonesia is a founding member of the organization.
