Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Attends the Lunar New Year Greetings Event Between China and Thailand

 (AseanAll)  — On February 14, 2026, a Lunar New Year's greetings event between China and Thailand was held at Siam Paragon, Bangkok, as part of the "Happy Chinese New Year 2026" event. Zhang Jianwei, Chinese Ambassador to Thailand, Mr. Attakorn Sirilatthayakorn, Thai Minister of Tourism and Sports and Ms. Thapanee Kiatpaiboon, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand attended the event.

Zhang Jianwei stated that the Chinese New Year is a shared festival for the Chinese and Thai people, and celebrating "Happy Chinese New Year" together is a vivid practice of the sentiment of "China and Thailand are as close as one family". 2026 marks the start of China's 15th Five-Year Plan and also a new starting point for the next " Golden Jubilee " between China and Thailand. China is willing to work hand in hand with Thailand to further promote a China-Thailand community with a shared future. 

Attakorn Sirilatthayakorn, Minister of Tourism and Sports highly praised the friendly relations between the two countries and expressed his expectation for high-quality development of tourism between China and Thailand.

Ambassador Zhang and Mr. Attakorn Sirilatthayakorn exchanged Lunar New Year's gifts. 

The China National Opera House, along with art groups from Henan, Fujian, and Chongqing, jointly presented a joyous, festive, and splendid cultural performance.
