Bangkok, February 12 (AseanAll)  — On February 12, 2026,Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Zhang Jianwei paid his respects to Somdej Phra Maha Ratchamongkol Muni (Thongchai Dhammathacho) and extend New Year greetings.

Zhang Jianwei stated that King Vajiralongkorn of Thailand's state visit to China last November was a milestone in the history of China-Thailand relations. The two heads of state jointly led China-Thailand relations to a new level. Ambassador Zhang thanked all sectors of Thai society for their contributions to promoting China-Thailand friendship and expressed China's willingness to work with Thailand to actively implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, deepen pragmatic cooperation, and ensure the enduring friendship between China and Thailand.

Somdej Phra Maha Ratchamongkol Muni congratulated the embassy on the successful hosting of the "Warmly Welcoming Spring Festival and Celebrating the Chinese New Year" reception. He highly praised China's tremendous achievements in fields such as technological innovation and artificial intelligence, and expressed his willingness to continue supporting Thai-Chinese exchanges and cooperation in the field of education, promoting cultural exchanges and mutual understanding between the two countries.
