Yangon, February 10 (AseanAll) — On February 8th, the Myanmar Chinese Chamber of Commerce (MCCOC) and the Yangon Overseas Chinese Service Center co-hosted the 2026 Spring Festival Elderly Care and Assistance Outreach Program in Yangon.
The event was attended by over 200 participants, including Mr. Jia Junjie, Minister Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar, Mr. Lin Wenmeng, President of the MCCOC, and representatives from the Chinese community in Myanmar.

Minister Counselor Jia Junjie praised the Chinese community in Myanmar for upholding the fine tradition of honoring the aged and the wise and carrying forward traditional Chinese values. He encouraged the community to continue caring for and assisting fellow Chinese in need and vulnerable groups, demonstrating a strong sense of social responsibility.
President Lin Wenmeng reaffirmed the MCCOC’s commitment to serving socio-economic development. He stated that the MCCOC also actively fulfills its social responsibilities by caring for the elderly, promoting filial piety, and contributing positively to enhancing the well-being of the Chinese community in Myanmar.
During the event, Spring Festival care packages, including cash grants, food, and health products, were distributed to a total of 160 elderly overseas Chinese aged 75 years and above who were in need. On the same day, several local Chinese community organizations also conducted outreach activities, delivering festive care and warmth to senior community members and promoting traditional Chinese virtues, including respect for elders and filial piety.
