Bangkok, February 3 (AseanAll) — On February 3, 2026, at the Victory Monument, Ratchathewi district, Bangkok, Thai Government Spokesperson Siripong Angkasakulkiat disclosed that Thai Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul presided over the enshrinement ceremony of the remains of 42 soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect the Thai sovereignty during the Thailand – Cambodia border situation.

Participating in the ceremony were Thai Deputy Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Adul Boonthumjaroen, Director of the War Veterans Organization General Kantnat Nikornyanont, senior executives of the Organization, and families and relatives of the fallen heroes.
Upon arrival, the Prime Minister paid a tribute and respect to the fallen veterans who lost their lives in the line of duty, and delivered an address of homage to honor their sacrifice and reaffirm Thai people’s gratitude for their service.
Following the address of homage, the Prime Minister chaired the enshrinement for the ashes of 42 veterans, placing them in Block 13 at the designated chamber, and then stood in solemn silence. Buddhist ritual was, then, carried out to dedicate merit to the spirits of the fallen veterans to conclude the ceremony.
The Thai Veterans Day falls on February 3rd each year. For the year 2026, the War Veterans Organization organized commemoration ceremony and activities in remembrance of the unfathomable benevolence of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother to the Organization, veterans, and their families.
