Cebu, January 29 (AseanAll) — Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Policy Leo M. Herrera-Lim met with Hou Yanqi, Director-General of the Department of Boundary and Ocean Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, on 29 January 2026 in Cebu, on the sidelines of the Senior Officials’ Meeting on the Implementation of the Declaration on the Code of Conduct in the South China Sea, according to the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting, both sides had a candid exchange of views on bilateral relations, maritime-related matters, and regional and international issues of mutual interest.
They underscored the importance of sustained diplomatic dialogue and continued cooperation across all sectors.
