Jakarta, January 26 (AseanAll)  — On 26 January 2026, Ambassador Wang Qing paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Sarah AI Bakri Devadason, Permanent Representative of Malaysia to ASEAN.

Wang Qing stressed the important role of Malaysia as the China-ASEAN country coordinator in enhancing China-ASEAN partnership and regional cooperation. Ambassador Wang stated China’s readiness to work with Malaysia and other AMS to implement the plan of Action to implement the ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership ( 2026-2030 ) and build a closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future, especially by seizing the opportunities provided by the 5th Anniversary of the China-ASEAN Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.       

Ambassador Sarah congratulated Ambassador Wang on assuming his new post, and highlighted China’s significant role in promoting ASEAN-China relations and East Asia cooperation as an important partner of ASEAN.  

Sarah conveyed Malaysia’s support for Ambassador Wang and expressed readiness to give full play to Malaysia’s role as the country coordinator and work closely with the Chinese Mission to bring the China-ASEAN relations to a new high.
