Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister receives credentials of newly appointed UNESCO Representative to Cambodia

Phnom Penh, January 21 (AseanAll)  — On the afternoon of 21 January 2026,  Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister PRAK Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received a courtesy call from Flavio Bonetti, the newly appointed UNESCO Representative to the Kingdom of Cambodia, on the occasion of his presentation of the Letter of Credence.

During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister warmly welcomed and congratulated Flavio Bonetti on his appointment. He underscored the Royal Government’s appreciation for UNESCO’s valuable contributions to advancing Cambodia’s development priorities, particularly in the fields of education, culture, and heritage preservation.

Flavio Bonetti highly commended the efforts of the Royal Government of Cambodia and reaffirmed UNESCO’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Cambodian ministries in order to achieve sustainable and fruitful development.
