Chinese Embassy in Timor-Leste Hosts the Third Tripartite Meeting to Safeguard Rights and Interests of Chinese Enterprises and Overseas Chinese

Dili, January 19 (AseanAll)  — On 16 January,2026, the Chinese Embassy in Timor-Leste, in collaboration with the Timor-Leste National Police, Chinese enterprises, and representatives of overseas Chinese communities, convened the third session of the Tripartite Coordination Meeting on Safeguarding the Legal Rights and Interests of Chinese Enterprises and Overseas Chinese in Timor-Leste. 

Chinese Ambassador to Timor-Leste Wang Wenli and Commissioner Henrique, Commander-General of the Timor-Leste National Police, attended the meeting and delivered remarks. The event brought together over 40 participants, including senior officials from the National Police Headquarters and regional branches, as well as representatives from Chinese enterprises and overseas Chinese communities.

Wang Wenli expressed appreciation for the long-standing efforts of the Timor-Leste National Police in maintaining public order and safeguarding the security of Chinese enterprises and nationals. She noted that since the establishment of the tripartite meeting mechanism, practical progress has been made in communication and emergency coordination. With growing bilateral exchanges, further strengthening tripartite security cooperation remains important.

Henrique spoke highly of the contributions made by Chinese enterprises and nationals to Timor-Leste’s development and reaffirmed the police’s commitment to addressing Chinese enterprises and the Chinese community’s security concerns. 

Representatives of Chinese enterprises and Chinese community expressed their willingness to operate in compliance with local laws and actively support relevant cooperation.
