(AseanAll) — On January 8, 2026, Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, received a courtesy call from the new Secretary General of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), Dr. Chem Widhya, who has just assumed office on 1 January 2026, at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat.
Dr. Kao warmly congratulated Dr. Widhya on his appointment and expressed confidence in further deepening ASEAN–AIPA collaboration, especially in advancing the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 and in fostering inclusive, people-oriented regional cooperation.
Dr. Chem Widhya will serve as Secretary General of AIPA for the 2026–2028 term.
