Jakarta, December 11 (AseanAll) — On December 11, 2025,Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn received a farewell call from Ambassador of the Republic of Korea (ROK,South Korea) to ASEAN, Lee Jang-keun, at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat.
During the call, Dr. Kao conveyed his appreciation to Ambassador Lee for his dedication and active efforts in promoting ASEAN-ROK relations, marked by the establishment of the ASEAN-ROK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2024.
Both sides also took the opportunity to exchange views on ASEAN-ROK relations and explored ways to strengthen collaboration in order to further advance the ASEAN-ROK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Dr. Kao also expressed his readiness to work with Ambassador Lee’s successor as well as with the Mission of the ROK to ASEAN to build on successes of the past achievements so as to create new milestones in ASEAN-ROK relations.
Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on December 9, 2025 hosted a reception for Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergey Shoigu, who is on a working visit to Viet Nam from December 8 to 10.
