Beijing, August 26 (AseanAll)  — On the morning of August 26, 2025, Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan had a cordial meeting with Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni and Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk at Zhongnanhai in Beijing,China.

Xi Jinping expressed his warm welcome to King Norodom Sihamoni and Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk for visiting China again, and welcomed King Norodom Sihamoni’s attendance at the Commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. 

Xi Jinping noted that during his state visit to Cambodia in April this year, he was accorded a warm and friendly reception by the King and the Cambodian people, of which he still has fond memories. The China-Cambodia relations have withstood the test of the shifting international landscape, and the two countries have forged an ironclad friendship featuring mutual assistance in trying times. The relationship has become a valuable asset for the two peoples and should be held dear by both sides. At a time of transformation and turbulence, it is important for China and Cambodia to stand together more firmly, carry forward the long-standing friendship, enhance solidarity and collaboration, accelerate the building of an all-weather China-Cambodia community with a shared future in the new era, and bring more benefits to the two peoples. China firmly supports the Cambodian people in following a development path that fits its national conditions and realizing lasting peace and security in the country. 

King Norodom Sihamoni and Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk expressed their great pleasure to visit China again and attend upon invitation the Commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. The Chinese people made significant contributions to safeguarding world peace, which should always be remembered. President Xi paid a historic state visit to Cambodia in April, in which the two sides reviewed their friendship, discussed cooperation, and achieved important outcomes. Cambodia always views its relations with China from a strategic perspective, and is ready to carry forward the long-standing friendly relations between the two countries and work with China to build an all-weather Cambodia-China community with a shared future in the new era.
