Manila, July 18 (AseanAll) — The Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman, Sayyid Badr Bin Hamad Bin Hamood Albusaidi, called on the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro, on 14 July 2025 at the DFA Temporary Headquarters in Double Dragon Tower.
During the call, Omani Foreign Minister Albusaidi and Philippine Foreign Secretary Lazaro discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations between the Philippines and Oman, through engagements in various areas of cooperation such as trade and investments, health, among others.
Earlier on 12 July 2025, the Omani Foreign Minister was in Cebu for the Cebu-Oman Investment Forum attended by around 30 business persons from Oman and approximately 30 representatives of the Philippine business sector.
Lazaro looked forward to a more robust engagement with the country, which the Philippines has enjoyed dynamic diplomatic relations with for 45 years.
After the meeting, Lazaro and Albusaidi signed the Memorandum of Agreement between the Republic of the Philippines and the Sultanate of Oman on Mutual Visa Exemption for Passport Holders of Diplomatic, Special, Service and Official Passports, which would facilitate entry to both countries of holders of such passports, with the aim to enhance mutual mobility and strengthen existing cooperation between the two countries.
