Bandar Seri Begawan, July 16 (AseanAll) — Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II, on 16 July 2025 received a courtesy call from His Excellency General Dato Paduka Seri Songwit Noonpackdee, Chief of Defence Forces, Royal Thai Armed Forces.
During the engagement, Yang Berhormat extended his warm congratulations to His Excellency on being conferred the prestigious Order of State Decorations, Darjah Paduka Keberanian Laila Terbilang Yang Amat Gemilang, First Class (D.P.K.T), by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on 15 July 2025.
Both leaders reaffirmed the strong and longstanding bilateral defence ties between Brunei Darussalam and the Kingdom of Thailand, underscored by continued cooperation through goodwill visits, professional exchanges, joint training activities, exercises, and defence courses. The discussion also highlighted the importance of fostering regional collaboration in addressing shared security challenges.
Brunei Darussalam and the Kingdom of Thailand have maintained diplomatic relations since 1984, marked by an enduring friendship and mutual commitment to defence and regional stability.
