Brunei Sultan Confers the Most Exalted Order of Paduka Keberanian Laila Terbilang (D.P.K.T.) to Chief of Defence Forces, Singapore Armed Forces

Bandar Seri Begawan, July 15 (AseanAll) —  Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to confer The Most Exalted Order of Paduka Keberanian Laila Terbilang (D.P.K.T.) which carries the title ‘Dato Paduka Seri’ to Vice Admiral Aaron Beng Yao Cheng, Chief of Defence Forces, Singapore Armed Forces during an Investiture Ceremony held in conjunction with the Sultan’s 79th birthday celebration. 

The Investiture Ceremony took place at the Balai Singgahsana Indera Buana, Istana Nurul Iman on 15 July 2025.

Meanwhile, in the afternoon, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam consented to receive in audience Dato Paduka Seri Vice Admiral Beng Yao Cheng and his wife, Datin Sharon Koh which also took place at Istana Nurul Iman.

The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) mark a new milestone next year as they celebrate 50 years of strong defence relations. Under Vice Admiral Aaron Beng Yao Cheng leadership, both armed forces have actively engaged in numerous military activities, professional exchanges, courses, and bilateral training exercises. This extensive cooperation has significantly strengthened mutual understanding and cooperation.
