Malaysia Strongly condemns the continued and escalating Israel military aggression across Gaza

Putrajaya, July 4 (AseanAll)  — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia issued a statement on July 4, 2025, saying that Malaysia appreciates the latest effort to end the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, in particular the 60-day ceasefire proposed by the United States and mediated by Egypt and Qatar. This must lead to a permanent ceasefire that will give hope for peace in the region. Any temporary cessation of military aggression must not be used as tactical manoeuvres.

Concrete effort is also urgently needed to push back starvation in Gaza through immediate, unimpeded and guaranteed delivery of humanitarian assistance.

The statement said that Malaysia has consistently and unequivocally condemned the Zionist Israeli regime’s genocidal acts that have killed over 57,000 in Gaza and caused total destruction in that Palestinian Territory since October 2023. The regime’s deliberate targeting of homes, schools, hospitals and aid distribution centres constitutes a gross violation of international law, including human rights and humanitarian laws.

In the same vein, the international community must demand the Zionist Israeli regime to end immediately the violence and brutality against the Palestinians in the West Bank, including those committed by Israeli settlers. As a matter of principle, Malaysia rejects any attempt aimed at annexation of any part of the Palestinian Territory. Such attempt clearly violates international law, United Nations resolutions and the Fourth Geneva Convention.

Malaysia reiterates its unwavering support for the Palestinian people’s inalienable right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent, sovereign State of Palestine, based on pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, as well as its rightful membership in the United Nations. The blockade of Gaza and the targeting of civilians must end without delay.
