Bandar Seri Begawan, July 1 (AseanAll) — The National Flag hoisting ceremony to mark the commencement of nationwide celebrations for the 79th birthday of Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam took place at the vicinity of the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex's open area in the capital on July 1,2025.
A total of 20 Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) personnel led by Yang Mulia Lieutenant Junior Grade Mohamad Syazwan Adillah bin Haji Mahri, RBN marched in to receive the National Flag from the Guest of Honour, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Minister of Home Affairs.
The National Flag hoisting ceremony marks the beginning for citizens and residents of Brunei Darussalam to hoist the national flag at their respective residences, and in all public and private premises nationwide reflecting their commitment, patriotism, loyalty and strengthens the love for the monarch and country.
